  • Colin & Calen’s slideshow < Click to see slideshow (by 5 West Kids)

    I took Colin & Calen to 5 West Studios for Colin’s 2 year old pictures and Calen’s 100 day photos.  I’m so happy with the outcome.  I was worried about whether or not there would be any good shots of the two of them together because Calen was so fussy and Colin wanted to play with the toys in the corner.  If you have kids, you have to get them photographed.  =)  Last year we did Colin’s 1 year pictures in Central Park (also with 5 West) and this year in the studio.  I always thought of studio pics as being cheesy but I think they came out great!  I think I’ll alternate indoor and outdoor shots from now on.

  • They grow so fast!  Calen is rolling over one way and almost able to roll back.  She’s flirting, squealing, and playful.  If you can believe it, she’s even sweeter than Colin was at that age… and he was a sweetheart.  She could be in the middle of a crying fit but if you can just get her to open her eyes and make eye contact, then she’ll immediately stop crying and coo with you.  She’s sweet… Although she’s been trying to wake up and feed at 5 in the morning these days.  Not cool baby.

    I love fat babies.  Calen isn’t as roly poly as Colin was but she holds her own.

    The first three photos were taken by 5 West Studios

    Colin is amazing and so much fun these days.  He says things like, “Here you go Calen.  I made that” as he hands her a plate of play food.  He says, “Come back appa.  Umma ride boat too” when we read Hey Mr. Choo-Choo.  He tattles on anyone who does anything worth telling.  Ok, that part is not so cute… but hey no one’s perfect.

    I bet I’ll even miss these moments when he’s a teenager telling me to go to hell.  At least he’s potty trained now.

  • I just published my previous post on facebook… first time.  It said I published it to friends’ home pages.. what does that mean?  It’s on each individual page?  How annoying of me!

  • When I was backing up my files onto my nifty new external drive, I wasn’t paying enough attention and I accidently erased all the pictures of Calen (and Colin) except the few that we took at the hospital.  And considering she’s brand new I lost a lot of “firsts” like first-tummy-time.  I was so bummed.  Luckily she looks like Colin so really I can just look at his baby pictures…

    Colin is such a good Oppa.  He gives her kisses (and leaves puddles of germy-germ drool on her, )brings her blankets (and covers her face) and toys (and pokes her with them because she won’t/can’t accept them).  If you ask him who’s baby she is he’ll say, “Colin baby.”  I love my son.

    Calen is Colin… dressed in pink.

    My angel…

    managed to project poo over 4 feet… on two playmats, two pillows, my hands/arm/leg, and Colin’s arm in one fatal blow.  Whatta shitty, shitty day that was!

    My biggest pet peeve is when Colin says, “mine, mine, mine.”  I tried to spank it out of him… but that only fueled the fire.  Now he says “mine, mine, mine” whenever he wants to piss me off or if I piss him off even if it doesn’t fit contextually.  It really gets under my skin.  I’d prefer if he told me to “fuck off.”  That would make me laugh.

    I’ll be sad the day Colin can enunciate better than me. Til then I’ll enjoy trying to decode his baby talk.  Our favorite is the mochocho (remote control).  We just learned that a wacaca is a harmonica.  Colin is also at the age where he is pretty possessive.  Everything is my <this> and my <that>.  The other day he was putting on his Crocs while chanting “my cock my cock”

    They grow so fast.  I watch Calen double in weight in a month… and I think… maybe I want a third.  Yikes.

  • HiBaby

    Baby Calen was born March 23… I had both kids before thirty.  =)
    6 lbs 8 oz 20 in

    So far I remember nothing about raising a newborn.  It feels weird to be inexperienced despite the fact that I have a 21 month old.  I’m just waiting for her belly button to fall off so I can start tummy time.  And then what?  So far she eats, sleeps, and shits.  It’s been easier than when Colin was born.  But my peds dr says enjoy it while it lasts because her true personality won’t come shining through for another week or two.

    Colin loves his baby sister.  He wants to give her big drooly kisses all the time.  What a good oppa he is!

  • We are days away from baby #2.  Colin is up for quite a shock.  He hugs my belly everyday and says “Hi baby Calen” and kisses it often.  Maybe he gets it?  He’s also started to lift up Dr Evil’s shirt and says “Hi baby” to his belly as well (Doc, it’s time for you to hit the gym again).  So maybe he doesn’t get it.  Well EDA isn’t until April but my OB is pretty convinced she’ll be gracing us with her presence sometime next week.  If she came by Monday I could say I had both babies before 30  !  lol.  At least having another baby takes the edge off of turning thirty.

    my fav Colin-words
    bahmboo   = bahngboo (fart)
    mochocho = remote control
    ilutoo        = i love you

    New Years in Houston.  (18 months old)

    He could sort all 12 shapes after a couple of tries.  He’s a genius!

    He found my wallet, climbed in the stroller by himself and then dumped everything out of my wallet… he’s a punk.

    Potty training day 1.

    For those of you who think Colin is all smiles all the time… this pic’s for you.

  • kka-kkeung!

    The other day Colin was acting up throwing toys and hitting me, so I threatened my 18 month by turning off the coveted TV.  Once the TV was turned off  he knew he did something wrong.  He immediately climbed up on the couch where I was sitting.  He gave me a big hug and a kiss, and then said “I love you ” (which he’s never done without me saying it first!).  But before I even had time to bask in the beauty of the moment, he reached down, grabbed the remote control, put it in my hand, and said “beebee (TV… duh).”  Way to kill the moment, Colin.

    So I’m about 24 weeks now.  The weeks rolled by so fast in the beginning but I feel it’s taken a dramatic decline.  I guess that’s a good thing because I am still so not ready for a second child.  In any event, Chloe is well.  She loves her new trampoline…trampoline… bladder… it’s all the same thing to her.

    Happy holidays peoples.
